The minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, announced during her participation in the Innovation + Talk 2023 meeting, that El Salvador will host the Centroamérica Travel Market (CATM) in april 2024.
The purpose of this fair will be for tour operators in the region to promote business in the area with operators from Europe and other regions of the world.
European, American, Canadian and South American tourists will be able to attend the event.
During the announcement, the official highlighted the work that the Government is carrying out for the development of tourism, through human strengthening and technological innovation.
She also highlighted the excellent results obtained by the Government in terms of public safety, which has a favorable impact on tourism and strengthens the attraction of visitors and new investors.
Security is vital for tourism and is one of the things that the Central Government has bet on. The official pointed out that El Salvador is sought after to receive large international events, such as surf tournaments, meetings and congresses, among other events that place the country among the main tourist destinations; she also recalled that this year the Miss Universe event will be held in the country.
Through the Centroamérica Travel Market, CATM, there has been a wide exhibition of the Central American cultural heritage, starting with the pre-Columbian civilizations, including the Mayan, and the Afro-Caribbean, which have been consolidated over the last centuries. Likewise, the attractive coastline, volcanoes, lakes and colonial cities become an irresistible tourist offer for those who wish to visit the Caribbean tropics and Central America.
